Accommodation
Cheshire Probation recognises the importance of accommodation in reducing offending and integrating offenders within the community.
In order to provide a consistent service throughout the county, there is a central Help Desk to process all referrals. This enables staff to track the progress of referrals and to assess the demand and take up of accommodation for offenders.
Eligibility for Assistance in Securing Accommodation
Assistance is provided for offenders who are either on a community sentence or on licence following release from prison.
The unit then matches the offender’s needs to suitable, available accommodation. Potential accommodation providers usually interview prospective residents before making a final decision.
All accommodation is visited on a regular basis to ensure standards are maintained. Key Performance Indicators are in place to monitor the performance of the accommodation provider.
